Chrysocolla Bracelets

from $126.00

Chrysocolla is a bluish green, veiny mineral of secondary origin and forms in the oxidation zones of copper ores. Often found with quartz, azurite, malachite and other secondary copper minerals. The Greek philosopher Theophrastus named the mineral in 315 BC, after the words for ‘gold’ and ‘blue’, in reference to the blue material used to solder gold.

I had never really heard of the mineral before, but was drawn to the gorgeous color and big, bold shapes of these stones at a local gem and mineral show. Each bracelet is unique, with handmade chunky chain links and bezel settings in sterling silver.
