Jade Pendants

These stones are from a ‘mystical’ store that sells gems and crystals for metaphysical purposes, not jewelry making. Their interesting shape—thin and broad, but not totally flat on one side like a traditional cabochon—appealed to me as fun pieces to try to set. I constructed bezels out of square sterling silver wire with double prongs in a thinner square wire. They are lightweight, open, so as much as the stone as possible is exposed to view, and allows light to pass through the stone.

The stones are shades of green with dark specks and streaks, and littles surface imperfections. Two pendants are rough rounded squares and the third is a very rounded chubby teardrop. The square pendants are about 1.25” across and the teardrop is about 1.5” across.
